Acne Creams Are Typically Used For Stubborn Problems

Persons who suffer from frequent acne outbreaks often end up with a double whammy when they find their skin cannot tolerate the ingredients in strong acne creams. Typically prescribed by dermatologists for persons with severe acne, most prescription strength acne creams have more of the concentration of benzoyl peroxide than the five or 10 percent available in over the counter products. Unfortunately, there are some people whose skin will turn red and feel like it is burning, often making them more miserable than the acne they are trying to eliminate.

Acne develops due to a build up of dead skin cells mixed with the body’s natural moisturizer, which block the pours through which the sebum reaches the outer skin. When this happens, bacteria begins to form in the pore, becoming evident as a blackhead or a pimple. Occasional blemishes are usually cared for with regular washing, but those with severe problems will need stronger acne creams than are available by prescription.

However, those whose skin cannot tolerate the stronger concentrations of the drug, who prefer not to use chemical products are leaning more towards acne creams containing natural products to sure their outbreaks and hopefully prevent them in the future. Tea tree oil is often cited as good acne creams for clearing up existing pimples as well as preventing them from recurring.

Make Up Usually Just Hides The Problem

For many people, using make up over existing zits to cover them from view, may also be causing more problems than they are curing. Most make up contains oils that also serve to block the pores, making an existing problem worse. There is however, acne creams containing salicylic acid, which is used for spot treatments and once applied to the blemish, can be covered with make up, hidden from public view while it does its job of drying out the zit and clearing the pimple.

That is not to say the product stays on until the zits go away. Rather, the skin still needs to be cleansed at least twice a day and the acne creams reapplied. Generally, it will not rub off and can maintain a protective shield around the zit to prevent even more dirt or oil from getting in to the zits. For an effective treatment, you need to consider somethging like SensiClear as an excellent all round treatment.

Lighter outbreaks can usually be cleared up with an acne solution, leaving the acne creams products for spot treatment during periods of heavy duty outbreaks. Those suffering severe problems should rely on acne creams recommended or prescribed by their doctor.
